WHAT IT IS

Tennis Technique Lessons For Kids With A Qualified Coach

Following the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program, our Junior Technique Coaching is ideal for children looking to begin their tennis journey. Hot Shots is designed to help every child jump in and start playing tennis, regardless of age or ability.

Played on smaller courts with modified equipment, sessions include lighter racquets, lower nets, and low compression balls that don’t bounce too high. With four fun stages (Blue, Red, Orange, and Green), one of our qualified Tennis Australia coaches will help guide your kids every step of the way. Lessons take place in a nurturing environment that promotes inclusion and greater participation. This coaching is conducted in small groups where kids are introduced to a sport they can play for life. Plus, once enrolled, you can claim your FREE Hot Shots t-shirt!

HOW IT WORKS

The Fun Four Stages Of Hot Shots

ANZ Hot Shots is a lot of fun and it’s a great way to encourage your kids to maintain an active lifestyle. Apart from skills like agility, flexibility and speed, the program will help your kids learn vital social skills, and they will make lots of friends along the way.

To ensure your child is playing at a level that’s right for them, the Hot Shots program has four stages designed to suit every age and ability:

Hotshots Junior Tennis | Blue Stage | Ages 3-5 | Slamin Tennis & Fitness | Doncaster

Launch Pad Stage

(Ages 3 – 5)

The Launch Pad stage introduces children to tennis through games and fun activities. Children learn the basics of tennis, including how to rally. This stage really helps children develop fundamental motor skills such as: throwing, running, catching, jumping and most importantly, tracking.

Juniors Stage (ages 12+)

Juniors is not an official stage in the Hot Shots Program but it marks the time when a child is ready to play on full size courts (10.97m × 23.78m) with the standard compression yellow tennis ball and a racquet of 25-27 inches. Once your child is at this stage, they are ready to begin transitioning to our teen programs and for those at the appropriate performance level, our high performance squads.

What's Next?

High Performance Squads

As part of our complete player development pathway, we transition high performing players from group and private lessons to join one of our elite development squads. We have squads for each stage of performance and age group and can take players who commit to tennis as their main sport to the highest competitive level. Squads build the technical, tactical, physical and mental skills athletes need to compete at an elite level.

Hot Shots League Competition

Hot Shots League is an extension of our Hot Shots Coaching program that gives children aged 7-11 who are already learning tennis, the chance to play against their peers and experience what it’s like to compete. This is done in a friendly and supportive manner, enabling children to support each other and encourage performance. All children over the age of 7 who are playing tennis are welcome to participate in the Hot Shots League.
