1. It’s the people. It’s the people that you get to meet on court. It’s the people that you get to meet off court. It’s the parents. It’s the extra siblings. It’s people in general. I love people. And all these new friendships, fond memories, and most of all, the banter, the stirring each other, and having a great laugh within our community. the banter, the stirring each other, and having a great laugh within our community. So, why does Vicky love tennis? Reason number one, the people.
2. I love the feeling. I love what it feels like when you make contact with the ball, when you slam a winner down the line, when you slice and get to the net and knock off a volley from your shoelaces. I love what it feels like and get to the net and knock off a volley from your shoelaces. I love what it feels like to win points. I love what it feels like to fight from behind and come back and even matches up, win matches. I love how it feels to play tennis.
3. The third reason I absolutely love tennis, is the kick serves. Absolutely love a kick-up. I love how it feels, I love the drive in it, I love the absolute bomb off the court that you can get. Absolutely love a kick up. I love how it feels, I love the drive in it, I love the absolute bomb off the court that you can get. I love the tactical effect of being able to take your opponent off the court, above their hitting zone and set your partner up at the net. So third reason, loving tennis, kickers.
4. My fourth reason why I love tennis is because of the competition. We get to win, we also lose unfortunately, but if you’re anything like me, I’m going to come up with a strategy and a plan to get my opponent back the next time I play against them. So the reason that I love playing tennis is the strategy, the fact that I can come back 10 times stronger and make myself a better version of myself. It’s the competitive pressure, it’s the competitive match. make myself a better version of myself. It’s the competitive pressure, it’s the competitive match, love it.
5. Reason number five why I love tennis is the gear. How cool is the Wilson stuff? Looks good on court, performs well. I use the Wilson Pro stuff 6.1 like she literally used it my whole life. It’s a fantastic racket, everything that Wilson do from rackets, bags, strings, balls, it is all fantastic. The clothing is fantastic as well. So reason five, why I love tennis It’s the gear Wilson giddy up.
6. Reason number six why I love tennis, it’s the different court surfaces. We get to play on the clay courts, the hard courts, the synthetic grass courts strategies and tactics that we need to work out. We have strengths and weaknesses in our game. So how are we going to put it all together based on the court surface, based on the conditions? Love the fact tennis is played on multiple surfaces.
7. Reason number seven why I love tennis, it’s the hustle, it’s the grind. I love hanging out all day keeping that ball going cross, cross, cross, cross until you’re dropping something short and kapow down the line I go. Love the long rallies, love the three four-hour matches, love ensuring that off court that I’m so fit, so strong, so when I step out on court you’ve got to beat me and I’ll always take you to three. I’m not giving up.
8. Reason number eight why I love tennis, it’s the solo nature of the court. When I step on court, I’m playing singles, it is 110% on me. The decisions I make, the mindset that I step on court with, the physical conditioning that I’m on court with, it is all on me. So when I win, it’s on me. When I lose, it’s on me. Everything about playing singles is solo and I love it because everything comes back to me.
9. Reason number nine why I love tennis. It’s the fight, it’s the hustle. You lose, you come back 10 times stronger, 10 times bigger, 10 times faster, 10 times harder in your fight and your attitude to win next time. It is absolutely the hustle where you are just grinding non-stop, side to side, side to side, to finally get that winner that you can put away. I love tennis because of the fight, because of the hustle, for the stuff that you do off court, to come back 10 times stronger and beat your opponent next time.
10. Reason number 10 why I love tennis. It’s the inclusive nature of the sport. (0:06) We can open our sport up to anyone of any ability. We’ve got blind low vision tennis that we simply change the ball and put a sound in it so people who are blind are able to participate in tennis. We have a variety of different pathways for people with down syndrome, people with autism, our wheelies tennis players, acquired brain injuries, any disability that you have we’ve got a way for you to join the sport. So, I love tennis because of its inclusive nature.

All genders, all nationalities, all ages, all religions, all backgrounds, any language, doesn’t matter, we can work the language out on a tennis court. So I love how tennis is just open to everybody. And we’ve got women’s doubles, we’ve got men’s doubles, we’ve got singles, we’ve got open, any gender can play, we’ve got juniors events, we’ve got people in their 90s that are playing, we’ve got kids as young as 3 and 4 playing. Tennis is a sport for all, for a lifetime. Reason number 11 why I love tennis.
